Monday’s are always the nights I find myself wondering what to make for dinner! This Thursday is my birthday so I know I’ll be eating a lot of cookie cake 😳 and by a lot I mean the entire cake… Jk.. Well Maybe. A few friends and I decided to have dinner and I threw out the idea of spaghetti. When cooking for others I throw on a pot of regular noodles while I make my “zoodles” for a low carb option. This sauce can be ready in 25 min or simmer it if you have the time to enhance the flavor.
1 jar of any pasta sauce: ( I use wild oats organic Parmesan Romano pasta sauce)
1 can of diced tomatoes (garlic and basil) for added spice use fire roasted
1 6oz can of tomato paste
1lb of extra lean ground beef or turkey
1 small onion
Brown your meat with the chopped onion. (10-15 min)
Once completely cooked (no longer pink) add in the pasta sauce, paste and diced tomatoes.
Add in spices (I use an Italian seasoning blend, garlic powder, salt, pepper and a dash of sugar to offset the acidity)
Simmer on low for 20 min then serve over pasta or zoodles!
If you don’t have the time to simmer just heat until hot!
